A wonderful mentor in Mindfulness

Here and now, at the time I write this, you could probably say that the world can be experienced as one big battlefield. As if we globally have overwhelming "growing pains" in our development from the old to the new. The new that we don't really know what it will look like yet. yet. But we feel in every fiber of our body that it is happening – here and now! Something is changing significantly in the world! Regardless of whether you are usually very energy sensitive or not, you cannot avoid feeling this global elevation of human consciousness. This is big! We are at a global historical shift.

But it is also very easy to get caught up in energies that you do not want to attract or be in. Stress, fear, worry and anxiety can appear when we least expect it. Standing in the middle of a big change, on the threshold of something new and unknown can feel overwhelming and scary. If we look out into the world, with all that it entails, media which stirs up feelings of anxiety, political decisions that make us lose our breath, institutions and organizations that collapse, it is often difficult to stand firm within ourselves. To let go of the outside world and do exactly what creates balance in our own world – anchoring and finding balance in our own heart.

I myself am no exception to this. In addition, I'm extremely energy sensitive, so it's very easy to slip into the path of feeling stress and the "art" of overthinking. A few weeks ago I was at just such an opportunity. A lot of upheaval had happened during the week, both privately and globally, and I felt how my own energy began to change, into something that was not really me. The stress and anxiety began to creep really close and my brain and thoughts were spinning way too fast. Despite trying to ground myself and land in myself again by shutting out the rest of the world and spending time in nature. Which is usually always one of the best ways for me to find balance again. Nature.

So at the end of the day I sink into my sofa with a big sigh and feel in the middle of all the spinning thoughts, quite empty inside. The "inner compass needle" just spins wildly. Suddenly a small cat body slides up to my legs and sits right at my feet. He doesn't jump up onto the sofa like he usually does, or sit on the table in front of the sofa to get to face level (cats looooove to communicate face to face!) And I feel the message so clearly: "Come back to me, mom. Feel your physical body, feel your heartbeat in your chest. Let go of everything and just be here and now with me. When we ground ourselves together, here and now, you will return to balance and harmony within yourself."

Of course! Wise little cat soul! I am so grateful that these four little paws are in my life. He is the world's best mindfulness mentor. There is no one who has such a positive effect on my energy and teaches me so well on a daily basis about the incredibly beneficial effects of being in the here and now. Mindfulness de Lux!

Animals are experts in Mindfulness, the art of being here and now. If we can be open to learning, give ourselves time to see this, the picture quickly emerges of how they are trying to guide us and teach us about it every day. How lucky you are, you have your very own mindfulness professional right by your side.

Maybe calm is not always what is needed. Sometimes the mindfulness lesson can be one hundred percent focused on reveling in love. Other times, our mindfulness mentor can show us that joy is the element we need. Play and mischief, here and now, forget everything else! Because that joy will stay with you, make your heart warm, grow and beat more steadily and safely in a troubled world. So what is your animal friend telling you? Gestures and expressions can be really clear but also so subtle sometimes that we almost miss them. But you know each other so well, so you will know. Give it some time. Allow yourself to drown in those beautiful eyes and instead of listening with your ears, listen with your heart. That's all they wish for.
